The commitment path that demonstrated great saint Ramalinga is not identical to dual practices of commitment in Vaishnav teachings and other dual traditions. Although on the highest levels they all should definitely lead to the same result, however, on low levels the difference between dual practices of worshiping and commitment to the chosen God and the self-transcendention practice is crucial. The difference is that a bhakta remains in the conceptual understanding of his God, in other words he differentiates between himself and his God. Ramalinga commitment path is not conditioned by any object, name or form. It is the inner process of the radical change of consciousness by its redirection towards the thinnest lightful layer of the non-conceptual consciousnessm, that is why we also call it self-transcendention. In other words, here the object of worshipping is not different from us, from our Supreme I. Ramalinga demonstrated that. If the self-transcendention principle is not understood at once, all the yoga methods are just tricks of our dual mind. That is why it is said:
“He who didn’t perceive commitment wouldn’t be honored by superior forces and wouldn’t receive the gifts of Spirit as he is closed to the call of eternity” The Code of Masters Chapter 41 “Commitment”
It means that if self-transcendention is not practiced, than all actions of the body, even done for the merits accumulation, still only enlarge prarabha-karma and they can’t grant liberation.
